Tysons Corner, VA Bloomingdales has a black XC90 T6 AWD, no sunroof on display I think until the September 26th.
overall: I like it better in person than the pictures.
- The gauges remind me of Audi or the new Passat W8 with the chrome trim ring.
- The 3rd row seating will be great for kids to be just a little further away
- plenty of headroom in the back seat for 6'2" person
- split folder rear hatch is interesting, nice for having a little bench
My wife really wants one now that she has seen it. We are going to call the 800 number and try to setup a test drive at our local dealer on September 30th.
I'm sure it will be a mad house. but on Sept 30th Don Beyer Volvo in Dulles, VA, from 6-9pm.
There go my hopes of picking up a 2000 V70R.

The dealer personnel will get to drive the XC90s but not customers. There will be Volvo (actually some private company) who are supposed not to let people test drive them.
Early October, most major Volvo Retailers will get one model for test drives.

Yannis

ahh, thanks for that tip. When we stopped by the dealer they made it seem like we could do a test drive on the 30th. We are very interested in how it rides and drives.
Yannis, do you know what the fuel economy will be for each motor?

Yannis:
In his first post he mentioned he saw a T6 w/o a sunroof. Can it be ordered this way; can it be ordered thru the OSD pgm this way; in otherwords, delete the sunroof? I think I've had the sunroof open maybe 3 times in as many years on my ML. All they do is eat up head room IMHO.

Pat,
The XC90 T6 comes with the sunroof as standard equipment. I just checked my Overseas Delivery Program order guide. It does show that the sunroof is an option for the 2.5T model. So, at least for right now, if someone wants a non sunroof XC90 it would have to be the 2.5T version.
William

I will have to check my Overseas Delivery program pericing list to see what is offered there too, but I doubt you can get a sunroof-less model through OSD when it is standard here...
Perhaps that model was (I am sure it was) one of the pre-production models and not a US-specs car.
When I return to work on Tuesday I will post unless someone else (fellow Retailer) looks it up on Monday).
Yannis

the T6 at Bloomingdales has euro tags ... I knew I should have taken pictures.
I was back at the mall today for a 2nd look, a lady from the store was locking the doors closing it up, i wonder if it is leaving on Monday.

Just saw one at Bloomingdale's in the King of Prussia Mall, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
It was a 2.5T AWD model with the Premium and Climate Package plus 17" Poseidon alloys. The car was a US-specs car but with Swedish license plates. Silver w/ Taupe Leather.
The wheels were shod with the Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires. They were H-rated but they did not look like all-season and they did not have any insignia on the sidewall indicating that (not surprising, coming from Europe).
Good looking car, as we all know it; it looked pretty big (standing next to it) and longer than most Volvos I have seen.
Yannis

They made a deal with bloomies. We ran it in the news last month I think. It's in the XC90 section.
Chris, I don't remember what they were, but if you scan through the XC90 writeup I did when I was in San Fran (on the main page) I gave Volvo's figures. At the time, there were no EPA figures.
I think you'll be happy with the XC90. It's no V70R, but chipped, I bet it'll do okay...
