Anyone out there ever actually used a teflon/PTFE paint protection product such as "Toughguard" or "5 Star"?
Supposedly, a one-time application will last 5 years on new paint and up to three years on a used car (more than a year old).
If so, does it work any better and stay on longer than a polish/wax treatment?
Thanks for your comments.

From everything I've heard and read, I wouldn't spend the bucks. To actually bond to another surface, Teflon has to be heated to some exceptionally high temperatures (I can't remember exactly, but your car would melt).
If you're looking for a good polymer sealant, a lot of folks like Klasse, Zaino or a new one called Blackfire. I'm kind of a detailing nut, and I get most of my stuff from http://www.properautocare.com
For a great forum dedicated to detailing, go to http://autopia-carport.com/ForumIndex.htm

Thanks for the tidbit. I am somewhat of a detailing nut myself but I have been living in Japan (Americans drive junkers here) for the last 3 years so I may be behind the power curve a bit.
Nonetheless, I look forward to taking delivery of my '02 S80 T6 in Hawaii upon my transfer; just trying to re-familiarize myself with the latest and greatest in car-lovin'
