George,
Sorry if this one hasn't been too active. The club is doing things but word is generally spread via Volvamus and an e-mail list within the club. We are currently trying new methods of getting information out and about and are in the throes of building. It's slow, but we're getting there.
BUT...with all that said, I am organizing an event this September Sixth at Wagonwork Collision Repair in Alexandria from nine to two. Mike at Wagonwork is hosting us and it promises to be a great shindig as he is holding the event at his new facility with all kinds of state of the art equipment. It is open to all club members for a modest registration fee. But I don't see much problem with signing up to come if not a member. If anything, folks interested in learning about some fairly cool practices in the collision repair profession and more about what the club does can register with me and meet some people there. I hope that turnout will be large and So does Mike. Food is provided, and a full program of information is sure to entertain. Mike has done this before for us as well as various car clubs from the region.

There was a rescheduling done for this event, so if anyone out there got a copy of the most recent Volvamus at a local Volvo dealership, the date was stated as late July. Construction of the new Wagonwork facility was delayed and as a result we pushed the date back to September sixth.
Again, this is going to be a great event and I hope that a good crowd will show.
I can provide more specific information for interested folks (parking, reg. fee, address, contact info for me, club membership information, etc.)

Re: Wagonwork Collision Repair Saturday shop visit. (kowalski)

DARN, most likely I'll be away on a trip. Granted I'll be in Germany for the Frankfurt show (so don't pity me), but I have heard really great things about Wagon Works and would love to come down to something like this.
Thanks for posting and sharing. If the local guys can come out to some of the events, perhaps they'll join and get involved. Thanks.

Sounds like a great event -- that place always has high end cars on the lot, so i figured they were pretty good. If you guys still do the DIY clinics, you should post that info here as well. I let my membership slip about a year ago, but I could fix that! Frankly, there seem to be a lot of DC area swedespeeders around so I would think there's good potential in this forum.

Re: Wagonwork Collision Repair Saturday shop visit. (Duett)

All interested parties in the Wagonwork trip should now take note that the shop visit is rescheduled for the 13th of September. That is now the final date I have been assured of by Mike himself. All is good.
Let me know if you would like to come no later than the Saturday prior to the event. That's the sixth.
