I found this on Volvo's website. This confirms that even the S60 R MY06-07 6-speed GT transmission has reduced torque in the lower gears. By my calculations it must be around 275 ft-lbs since the R is heavier than the T5. On the other hand the AWD should help the R. My previous S60 NA with 170 HP and 5 speed non-GT accelerated in around 10.5 sec<p><br> <IMG SRC="http://home.san.rr.com/bstruck/S60_numbers.jpg" BORDER="0">

Both have the 5spd AW55. Only 2006 is different, a 6spd.<p>2) Johann and others have constantly stated that a T5 closer to the R in acceleration than we care to admit. I don't recall that being directed solely to automatics. <p>3) Manufacturers published acceleration times always need to be taken with a grain of salt.<p>I don't think this proves anything, but it certainly does not dispel the rumor that the 6spd auto also has torque limiting.<p>
