Volvo_s60turbo Build Thread
So I thought since I’ve had my car for a while I’d start my own build thread/picture thread. I’ll post on here pictures of the process of the car as well as any modifications I can do, I know many of the build threads have been a ton of help on this forum so hopefully I can be of some help or at least give some people some ideas. Feel free to pm me or respond on this thread with any questions or suggestions.

I got my 2004 Volvo s60 2.5t as my first car when I was 16 from my uncle who bought it new in Sweden through the special delivery program. I immediately fell in love with the car and already had a few modifications in mind, but I don’t think I could’ve imagined it would’ve been to the point where it is now.

Today I am 19 and continue to take any opportunity to work on my car.

Performance Modifications:
Rica Stage 2 Tune
16T Turbo
3” turbo back exhaust (OBX downpipe, Magnaflow Cat, Mandrel Bent piping, Borla XR-1 muffler)
Snabb Intake Pipe
IPD Throttle Body Pipe
Silicone Vacuum Hoses
IPD HD CBV
ARD TCV
Polished R intercooler pipe

Aethestic Modifications:
R front bumper conversion
S60R sport kit rear skirt
Sport kit side skirts
Silver Painted Headlight bezels
MY05+ tail light conversion
20% Tint
Plasti dipped white
OEM Roof Rack with Thule fairing and Kayak Mounts
ASA Msport 19x8.5 Wheels
Black Vinyl wrapped roof
Rolled rear fenders

Suspension/Handling:
Poly top engine, transmission, control arm, and strut stabilizer bushings
CX Racing Coilover Suspension
H&R 25mm Spacers in the rear

Interior:
R gauge cluster swap
MY05+ Center Console
IPD R boost gauge
Pioneer Double Din Headunit
Carbon fiber wrapped interior pieces
Black headliner

First Day when I got it:

First Mods:

OEM Pegs painted with wheel paint

Painted Headlight Bezels Silver

Then there were other little cheap mods but nothing really significant until I started working more hours and parted out and s80 that I made money on. So then started the real modifications…

OEM Sport Kit:
Front Lip Picture (May recognize it from Viva’s website)

Side Skirts and Rear Skirt

Fairly Recent Engine Bay Pic of various mods:

Bremmer Kraft BR07 wheels:

Just a few pictures from over the years:
With the S80 parts car

As it sits today:

I am planning owning this car for a few more years and still have a bit planned to do to it.

I love the way your car looks! You should get some winglets and center splitter, they'll definitely compliment the rest of the sport kit...i've never really liked the vst lip, but to each his own lol. I'm really curious on how you made the black headliner too...I really wish my R had a black headliner...

Yeah to each his own I like some cars with winglets some I don't like the look idk why haha. The black headliner was actually pretty easy, just ripped of the old headliner material then took a wire brush and removed the rest of the foam left over and then took heat resistant industrial strength spray glue and generic headliner fabric and it was good to go. It certainly isn't perfect but it's pretty good in my opinion no sagging or anything

Got around to installing the coilovers on friday and overall i am pleased with them. The rear has a metal spring seat with adjustability which at first I installed but after letting the jack down it was way too high so i removed that and ran just the spring which dropped it a bit lower than my H&R springs with one coil cut. The front I'm not really 100% sure about the drop is no more than the H&R's and i was looking for about .5in more drop however after adjusting i felt like anymore and the spring would be compressed to much, however the adjustment can go higher to compress the spring more and go lower so I'm going to mess with that a bit over the next week or so.

The ride is so much better, its a bit stiff but not spine crushing, i feel like around corners the car feels much better. My old rear shocks I was able to compress with ease so they definitely needed replacing. Im still messing with the dampening in the front there is definitely a difference between hard and soft right now riding in the middle and I think I will stick with that unless I'm traveling in which case I will dial it down to soft.

I would recomend these for the price and the install was a breeze the front struts are already assembled. This is my second time removing shocks and struts and springs and it took my about 2 hours total to get everything done so just need an afternoon. There was absolutely no modification needed to get these to fit.

Parting out cars, buy/sell on ebay, part time job that pays well, and at the moment I dont have to pay rent so pretty much whatever I earn goes into this. I have to work hard for each modification though unlike many kids I know. I like the satisfaction of being able to say I earned the money to do mods rather than being "sponsored by mom and dad". Theres definitely a bit of money that was invested into this car though, all worth it though.

Unfortunately not very low in the front as I still dont have a place to adjust them at school so it will be a couple weeks until i adjust them unless I just do it in an autozone parking lot. Here are a few bad pictures didnt realize how bad the lighting was, and I shouldve used something to measure the gap. The front height is a bit embarrasing right now though.
