Hi guys,
Is it possible tp open the sunroof, but keeping the shade fully close.
I explain myself:
On PARK Position; I want to fully open the sunroof for ventilation, but keep the shade fully close to keep mosquitos outside the car.

With Covid, we are doing more and more onboard lunch or long phone call while at park, sometime even sleeping in it on long roadtrip. Would be great to keep the sunroof open avoiding to keep the car running for climatization when there a lots of bugs and mosquitos.

I don’t think there’s an “official” way to do it, but I’ve done it once before.

Basically, you want to use one hand to hold onto the closed shade and the other to toggle the sunroof switch. Do the usual 2 click sequence to open the sunroof but right when you do the first click for the sunroof, hold the aluminum bar at the front of the shade to prevent it from moving. It will essentially jam/stop moving, but the sunroof will slide open.

Not sure if doing this will cause much harm (I did this by accident once on a long car ride, hence why I know), but it’s worth a shot! Personally, I think the mesh on the shade isn’t fine enough to keep bugs out, but it certainly might be better than nothing.

The short answer is no, it's not designed to be used as a screen.
Bad idea anyway for the long term, any debris that lands on it will be rolled up when it opens. No way to clean it good either, it's half covered by the rear glass panel.
Any large bumps in the screen could possibly inhibit the shade rolling up, and any bugs or organic matter that accumulates will eventually break down, decompose potentially creating odors or a dust cloud on closing.

One option is to find a foldable mesh that fits the exact space for the moonroof opening. I didn't find one, so I bought one that is larger, and resized it to fit:
