The minds at Volvo have been quite busy recently, as the recent influx of test vehicles creeping their way out of Gothenburg points to big things coming from the Swedes.  The latest of these was sent our way earlier today by CarPix, showing what appears to be a V40-based SUV, to logically be called the XC40.  Aimed squarely at the BMW X1, Mercedes GLA and Audi's Q3, the upcoming Volvo will ride on Volvo's new CMA platform, and coming in at roughly the same size as the competition.

What we do know, is that Volvo is currently hurting for product.  Luckily, they are also aware of the issue, and are working to quickly make the all-new XC90 the oldest current model in their lineup, with the S/V90 and next-generation V40 coming to market within the next year.  We'll be sure to bring you updates on both models as they become available to us.
