Volvo is offering a $200 rebate for wheels to people who receive Volvo Magazine (basically new Volvo owners). If you sniff around a dealer and try to seak one out, you may be able to get yourself a rebate coupon. It's not a bad deal, and they're trying to promote the new wheels they have as accessories.

Does anyone know if this rebate is applicable in Canada? I'm not familiar with Volvo Magazine nor have I heard of the rebate until now.

I would ask at your Volvo dealer. They can probably verify it for you. I believe the magazine is for worldwide English speaking distribution though, so you should be okay.

Was at my dealer today and he gave me a $200 discount form when I asked about ordering a set of 17" Comets for a V70R AWD that came with 16" Meteor (exactly the same style). The offer runs until 30 June, 2002 and applies to accessory wheel purchases only. Offer is from Volvo Cars North America so it might work in Canada/Mexico (unless Volvo doesn't consider them part of North America).
I have two part numbers for the Comet wheel: 9191262 and 9191269 does anyone know what they are? My parts guy seems to be having trouble with his computer, and God forbid Volvo would let it's customers have access to the parts code database...the horror!

He has been wanting to upgrade his XC's OEM alloys and tires to 17". I had mentioned to him that there is a $200 rebate, thinking like you...But when he presented that to his Retailer, they informed him that this was available only in the US.
Yannis

I was 99.9% sure that the Meteor wheel was stock on the V70R, but I wasn't sure what car(s) was(were) available with the Comet wheel. I guess they're just an upgrade for any car and not stock on anything (except C70se).

quote:
I have two part numbers for the Comet wheel: 9191262 and 9191269 does anyone know what they are? I thought I had the part numbers for the Comet wheels, but the ones I have are for the Meteor. I'm sure someone else here can decipher the part numbers for you.
The parts guys at my local STEALERship are morons! One guy once looked up a p/n for an exhaust manifold stud. When I pointed out that he was looking at the picture of the intake side, he BS'd that the picture was backwards! He couldn't just say "oh yeah, you're right." And this was AFTER I told him at least 3 times that the stud was too short, while he responded "it's the right part." OK, enough ranting about the incompetant parts department.
