I'm getting ready to begin building our Wheel gallery and wanted to include some information with each wheel. I can call around and get this, but was wondering if anyone can help me out quickly.
I need offset and bolt pattern info for both fwd and rwd wheels, in addition to S40, 400series or any other oddity in the Volvo line that may differ from the two main setups (fwd, rwd).

quote:
Originally posted by [email protected]:
Thanks Colin. Any idea what the bolt pattern and offset are?

Most Volvos have a 5x108mm bolt pattern but there where some exceptions. The first year of the 850 it came with a 4x108mm. The other one I know of is the S/V40. I order to make it able compete with imports it went with a more common 4x114.3 pattern. Japan uses 4x100 and 4x114.3 and there are many wheels for those applications including some wheels that have eight holes, 4 drilled at 100 and 4 drilled at 114.3mm.

As for offset I know that 200 series is +20mm and the non-ABS 700/900 cars are +25mm. The new front wheel and all wheel drive cars are some where near 40 but I don't know exactly since it also varies with rim width.
I'll look for more good pictures of Volvo wheels. I took those above from the 2001 brochures. I will stop by a dealer to see about getting new 2002 since they came out with new designs like those ones that are on the S60 AWD that look like a fat Volan, Thor or something like that.

There's another wheel that I just remembered. The Multi-X mesh-style (I don't know what it's actually called) from the late 780 is 15x7, 5x108, ET20mm (it's a 700 series wheel, but 20mm offset because of the width, I believe).
Here's another picture of that wheel above. This one is from the Volvonet gallery, but finding listed in the gallery section won't help because it says "16" Hydra wheels...", which those obviously aren't.

As far as I know the 1st Gen XC had three different OEM wheels. The 15-inch wheels for the 1st generation 98'-99' XC were called 'Terra'. The 1st generation V70 XC SE had different wheels, but I am not sure of the name. The '00 XC had different wheels from the '98-99' XC as well. Not sure of the names.

00' V70 XC Rims

-Drew
[This message has been edited by InDy (edited 12-27-2001).]

I just put up the Wheel Gallery in our Resources section. You can find it from the main page also. Check it out. I left some of the sections blank, like names, because I didn't have them. Also, a Volvo accessories catalogue I had had some discrepancies with the sizes above as well. If you know enough to verify one is right or wrong. Also, if you know of a source for larger side images of other Volvo wheels not included, let me know. I'm going to search the Volvo press servers and some older CDs I've picked up at some of the Auto Shows.
Also, if anyone has Volvo accessory catalogues or side views of older wheels that can be scanned (and maybe you have a scanner ) I'd very much appreciate any contribution.

I have a sugestion. Where all the specs are listed you should add the finishes that are available like machinened, silver, anthracrite, etc. Also having the models it came on listed with numbers looks goofy when it only came on one car. Maybe bullits would make the list look better.
