SCCA has just adjusted the Volvo min. weight from 3000lbs to 3350lbs, the biggest weight addjustment in history. 150 lbs more than the Caddy ever ran, 200 lbs heavier than the 600 plus HP Mustang / Corvette. Now to be honest we have not been able to reduce our weight enough to meet to 3000lb min, but were hoping to get closer as time went on.
I guess we scared our competitors to death.
We'll we are off to Mosport, Canada, not looking forward to be killed on the staights.

Well that sucks, but at least you can put the weight where it's needed, (I assume towards the rear)!
Another sactioning body's knee jerk reaction
I could see 75-100 lbs, maybe if you are, in fact, that much quicker, but one fast (for you) semi-rain race and all hell breaks loose in someone's brain.
I'll tell you one thing, if John Temanus was still the head of SCCA tech, he would not have reacted that adversely in one race.
Bitch, bitch, bitch, someone got someone's ear!
I've never heard of any sanctioning body adding 350 lbs!!! to one car just like that.
It's not as if you ran away and hid three races in a row.

Sorry to hear. Wasn't a fan of the coin toss either. It's great to get penalized for winning.
Hope you have a great weekend!

If so, a 10+% weight increase after one win is a bit severe, and with that the uphill back straight at Mosport's gonna be a killer.
On the bright side you have two of the best closed-wheel drivers in North America, both of whom know the track really well, and if you have better handling they'll know what to do; try to be ahead going into turn 8, and then pull enough of a gap by the time you get to 5b that the competition can't catch up before you go into 8 again. Good luck, and I wish I could be there to cheer you on.

I'm 170 pounds, plus about 30 lbs of safety gear, and I can bring a couple of heavy suitcases to throw in the trunk. What do you say?
Any idea if they're gonna throw in a weight adjustment on Randy's other ride? Those little orange Honda's were everywhere on Saturday.

If you're coming up to Mosport and they don't let you become ballast in the race car, try to get a ride in one of the cars on the Sunday (I think) parade laps. Even at slow speed you'll get an idea of what those "puckered sphincter" corners are like.
