Great roof box. The Vector Alpine is a lot stiffer and solidly built than the older Thule boxes and has that turned down front, which to me - looks like it might reduce noise further back around the rails. Do you find that it’s fairly quiet?

I have a Thule Motion Alpine and while I really like the size, the lid is a bit flimsy feeling, so I have to be careful when opening and closing. It’s fine when it’s closed but all the rigidity disappears as soon as the lid is unlatched.

I would say that wind noise is better and I feel more comfortable at high speeds with this one than previous boxes. Also may have some effect on fuel consumption, albeit minimal. Lights inside are nice and how it cranks down to the cross bars is a solid feature - hear a click and you know it's set. Also hangs on my wall (vertically) without taking up much garage space, which is nice. Downsides are that it's not the best best for camping/bulky items but it does the job. It's designed for modern shaped vehicles so might look silly on my second vehicle (say a Lexus GX460 or Yukon etc) but I love how it looks on the V90. The flimsy nature when open still is there but better than the older models that don't always align etc.

Hey -- a bit late to the party but anyway. Awesome setup!

Taking delivery of a V90 CC B6 MY2021 on Saturday, and am possibly looking at adding a roof box to it. I'm specifically looking at the one you have, including the same mounts.

Do you have the glass/panoramic roof as well by any chance? Is it fully operational with the roof box mounts?

We have a V90CC and a Yakima CBX 16 roof box, and the pano roof opens just fine. But … it's noisy with the roof box on it, and the box obviously blocks most of the light that would normally come in through the pano roof.

I am choosing the tradeoff where I will get a lower box for less noise and not be able to open sunroof.

Is there a fuse we can remove to make sure not to operate the sunroof?

FYI - the box itself has virtually nothing to do with whether or not you can open the roof. That's all the crossbars.
