Hi Guys!

First of all, this is my first post, so I apologise if I inadvertently break any rules, or say anything stupid.

I have a Volvo V50 2.0d 2008. RHD. 160k but well maintained by previous owner (hopefully me too)

I have had it for about 5 months now and for 2 of those months, I had near continuous limp mode, which I eventually solved as being a clogged throttle body (I also had a play with the electrics in the passenger footwell). I noticed sometimes that during limp mode, the car would shudder quite badly under acceleration. Since fixing the limp mode, I have found the shuddering has become a permanent feature. I can coast or 'cruise' at any speed with no shuddering or cabin vibration until I accelerate.

I have done quite a lot of online research that hasnt really helped except to potentially narrow the issue down:

I doubt it is a bent drive shaft, as the shuddering is only under acceleration.
I doubt it is a buckled wheel, tyre or wheel balance for the same reason - no shuddering when no load exerted on the engine.
I have my suspicions upon engine mounts, however, most problems concerning engine mounts appear to have produced the worst shudder or vibration whilst at idle. My engine seems fine at idle!

Does anybody have any suggestions? I suspect the car has been remapped by a previous owner, as it is faster than my old Saab 9-3 turbo. Could it be something to do with any extra power? I'm not sure what those drivetrains can take, but lets say its running 180bhp: surely that's an easy enough load?

Anyway, what do you all reckon? The Mysterious Case of the Shuddering Volvo?
