Hi, I own a volvo v40 (cc) and I noticed that there is also an option to have layered glass in the side windows (see symbol).

Is there someone who can help me with the part numbers for that, my dealer can't find it? Thx

Try your local auto glass shop. They can probably do the install for way less than dealer.

I would love to replace my side windows for acoustic in my 2021 XC90 but didn’t find any replacement in the US.
if you had an XC90 with acoustic glass and you broke a window, what would happen? There must be a source! BTW, I have it in my V90CC and I have no idea how much it contributes to noise reduction. There is far more noise coming from wheelwell area in the front than through the windows.

It wasn’t an option on the US/Canadian market as far as I know. What I found interesting that once I covered my panoramic sunroof with acoustic foam the vehicle is more quiet not just warmer during winter/cooler during summer.

How did you put the foam on? I never ever open my sunroof and I keep shade closed as well (skin cancer). If I could have bought a car without the pano I would have!

Same here. Hate that thing and never use it. I put on ceramic window tint around except the windshield and was worried about the sunroof to be cracked. So I went to home depot and picked up a roll of silver heat insulation.Everbilt 24 in. x 10 ft. Double Reflective Insulation ADD04 610x3.048 - The Home Depot

I cut it for the proper size and used some double side tape to secure to the glass. I can still open the sunroof if I have to clean the water drains. Then I put up 1” thick soundproofing foam because I have 1.75” between the glass and the shade. The car is like a normal old school, no sunroof vehicle, the temperature is better, the AC is not struggling and as I said it’s more quiet than before. The reflective insulation was $10 and the foam is about $25. The foam holds itself no need for any tape or glue.
