Volvo Cars has announced some changes for their S80 lineup for customers in the UK. A new entry-level model will be added, in addition to trim level upgrades for higher spec models.<BR>New 2.4T Engine Option for Volvo S80<BR>From February this year, Volvo is offering its 200bhp 2.4T engine in its S80 executive saloon model. A top speed of 143mph and 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds, combined with low CO2 emissions and excellent fuel economy, make it an attractive proposition for fleet drivers, when the new company car tax rules come into place this April. <P>Priced at £23,855 and £25,755 for the manual S and SE respectively (and with an automatic option priced at £1100) this new model offers real value for those looking for a comfortable 5 seat executive saloon.<P>Other S80 Model Improvements<P>The Volvo S80 has also been enhanced further by recent week 50, 2001 changes. These inlcude:<P>All S80 Models <BR>Dashboard panel and side vents have a new high quality finish, which is colour matched to the main dashboard. <BR>A leather trimmed handbrake becomes standard. <BR>A new 9 spoke 17” alloy wheel, “Interceptor”, is introduced as a cost option priced at £300. This new alloy wheel will be an exchangeable option with 17” Arrakis on T6 SE models.<BR>2.9 and T6 <BR>New body coloured side rubbing strips and front/rear bumpers differentiate the 6 cylinder models from the 5 cylinder cars. <BR>Bi-xenon (gas discharge) headlamps and headlamp wash/wipe are available at £650. This offers xenon lighting for both low and high beam, with automatic headlamp levelling.
