Here are some pictures of how the S60 looks with the optional rear mudflaps. I think that it looks pretty nice. I wonder if the optional rear mudflaps for the S60 can be painted to match the color of the car? I wonder how good that would look.

-Drew
[This message has been edited by InDy (edited 02-15-2001).]

InDy, did you put the mud flaps on already? I'd be afraid to paint them because if they chip or scratch, they'll look bad. Maybe if your S60 is a dark color that would not be as much of a concern?
Thanks for the pictures! I've been really curious as to what they look like installed, and they look better than I thought they would. I got the mud flaps as part of the AOL deal, but I have not put them on yet because I thought it seemed odd that they only had rear ones. Do you like them?

I think that the rear mudflaps look pretty good actually. I don't think that it would be a good idea to paint them either because, then they would not match the black moulding on the bottom of the car. They would probably also get chipped and scratched like you said.
I have integrated front and rear mudflaps on my Infiniti Q45a that look really good and help keep dirt and mud off bottom panels of the car. My Volvo 960 does not have them, and it makes a big difference when it is time to wash the car. The older Volvo's that my family used to own had them and they did make a difference. They keep the paint behind the wheels in better condition as well in the long run.
-Drew
[This message has been edited by InDy (edited 02-15-2001).]

InDy: You are right about them matching the color of the trim. Do you like the rear mud flap only look? I am still not sure, and I wonder why they don't have front ones to go with them. If they did I would probably go for it. As it is now, I have the AOL ones in the trunk. The dealer said they'd put them on anytime for me, though.

Pesonally, I think that the S60 would look better with both the front and rear mudflaps on together. I have heard that the reason there are no front mudflaps availible yet, is that Volvo is having trouble designing them so that they do not interfere with brake disc cooling. I am sure that they will be out after a while though. If your dealer promised that they would put them on anytime, then you might want to wait untill the front ones are developed.
-Drew
[This message has been edited by InDy (edited 02-16-2001).]
