So I bought an OEM volvo roof rack last fall and left it on all winter. I was going to go on a long drive a couple weeks ago and decided to take it off. Idk if I went too fast or originally tightened it too much but the rubber at the edges that’s supposed to be a buffer between the rack and the roof ripped partially from the metal part (see pic). I figure that when I tighten the rack back on it will still tighten the rubber and metal pieces back together. Has anyone had any issues with these? Is it still going to be able to not fall off with a load at highway speeds?
