Original Volvo car seat. This is the rear facing seat that is (by far) the safest way to transport your kid. Designed and made by Volvo, original cost was $350, very hard to find. Allows your kid to travel rear facing until age 2.5 or 3 (depending on size). Very good condition (8 or 9 out of a 10).
Really only fit Volvos unless you are doing som modifications to your car
Inlcudes all needed hardware. Selling for $100, pref not shipping....

Hence you would have to find some other point that is sturdy enough to attach it to. Obviously you could buy an eyelet or hook from Home Depot and attach it to your seat rail, but I do not want to take any responsibility for such modifications. The chair uses the rear seat belt to actully stop it from travel in an accident. The black straps allows for a snug fit and prevents it from moving in a sideways crash.
Quite a clever construction.
BTW - All Volvos since last 90s have the support for this chair, in some older cars you may have to buy the eyelets from Volvo and attach them yourself. In our, US spec, 2004 car they were already installed.
Fastwagon..
What is the year of manufacture on this seat? Car seats typically "expire" at 6 years of age (some older ones it's 5, some newer at 8).
I believe all the VOLVO infant/child seats are RECALLED and should not be used. You should really check with volvo before selling this.

Assuming a 10 year life (which is more common for newer seats - especially for a car that has lived in the NE (not a lot of intense sun) and that has been garaged all of it's life), there is plenty of life left in this one. The seat has NOT been in an accident - which is the only "real" reason for retiring a seat before 10 years.
The latter piece of your comment is just blatantly WRONG and I have no idea why you throw out a statement like that without any facts to support it. As a matter fo fact - they are still sold and are considered very, very safe since they allow for reverse travel to a later age. See below page:http://www.volvocars.com/se/ca....aspx
Frankly - your comments above remind me of this picture:

Fastwagon..
Easy champ. No need to get excited.
Since you're ad lacks much of the relevant info, I had to resort to google...
Reference http://www.carseat.org/Recalls/179NP.pdf for the recall deal. Right or wrong I don't know, since you failed to mention the model of the seat.
From what I gather, it is actually made by BRITAX (a good thing), not VOLVO.
You still failed to mention the manufacture date (which is stamped into the seat), but most britax seats expire after 6 YEARS, not 10. Where your car lived or was garaged does not matter. The manufacturer recommendations are certainly a "REAL" reason to retire a car seat. This is a child's life we are talking about... READ the manual for the answer.
Assuming it was sold in the US, it can be installed in any car. It's the law.

Do a test - leave a piece of plastic outside for 6 years in the NM desert or in a garage in MA. Then hit it with a hammer - see which piece is more brittle.
Anyhow - if you are looking to buy the seat - send me an email and I can provide you any info offline.
