Is this true? If it is, the 2.5T AWD is looking much better to me.
Volvo lowers prices on XC90

Demand has met the first year's production goal of 50,000 vehicles

Also, Demand strong for Volvo XC90 indicates that all 50,000 units have been spoken for? Kinda contradictory to the other article. I mean, if demand was strong, why would Volvo lower MSRP?
In any case, I guess it's gonna be MY2004 for me

[Modified by crikey, 12:16 PM 10-4-2002]

It is only a matter of time that every single unit will have a customer's name for it.
For example, I have an initial allocation of 34 XC90s (and it is supposed to go up to 42). Right now, I have close to 62 deposits of which I know that 54 of them are concrete. The other 8 are not sure if the will like the vehicle (yeah, right) and want to drive it before they make up their mind.
So, I have my own back log already and this is only for cars arriving by February! That means I already have 12 customers (at least, as we are selling a couple of XC90s every other day...) that will have to wait beyond February...it is gojng to be tough...
I wold like to see how much over MSRP they will charge in markets like New York City, Boston, etc....
Yannis

So Yannis, you can't confirm the lowering of MSRP for the 2.5T FWD (which should lower the MSRP for the 2.5T AWD since AWD is considered an option)?

On top of that, XC90 FWD may or may not have their MSRP's lowered but not the AWD models; I realize that the AWD is an option but any price mods are not going to affect the starting price of the AWD models.
When "things" break loose I will post.
Sorry!
Yannis
