Re: volvo key (p0cket penguins)

I had an idea to fabricate a flash drive into the key. I think it can be done but I would need a spare key to practice on as I am not about to mess up my spare.
On another note the key also has crime deterrent ...

Re: volvo key (Rangeball)

I ordered a new spare key without the alarm on it (I have an aftermarket alarm) The new key is 1/4 the total size of the old (that had the remote ) No more huge key and no more key popping out in my pocket. But at 45.00 for the key and 100.00 to program, it's not a cheap option. But I realy like the new key size.

Doesn't really bug me as my old car was a normal key, and my shorts usually have longer pockets to allow the key to flip out and still remain vertical so it doesn't dig into my thigh.

If you voted yes,
#1, You have nothing else to do than voting on a meaningless poll.
#2, Wrap a rubber band around it whenever it's in your pocket and vote again.

Although it has NEVER popped out while in my pocket, I have neglected to shut it before throwing it into my pocket and I've never noticed until it was time to pull the keys out again.
Maybe ya'll wear pants/shorts that are just toooo tight

Re: volvo key (Mash)

I misplaced on of my flip out style keys and was quoted 500$$ from the dealer to replace. That is programming and all involved. The 145 dollar option seems more palatable. Was this done through the dealer? Any help you would provide is appreciated. If you know of a cheaper way to get the flip out style as well I may be interested in another on of those. Thanks

I just hated the fact that I looked like I had 2 ROCKETS in my pockets . (because of the key size). I bet you can't fit your briefcase with those extra keys in your pocket!

Broken key replaced under WARRANTY

FWIW - If you break your key, it is actually covered under warranty!
Yup, that's right, one of my keys stopped doing the switchblade-pop-out-thingy and when I picked up my car after my last oil change, my SA told me that he ordered a replacement under warranty. I just need to go back & have them all reporgrammed.

I keep a rubber band around it. Yet ANOTHER fix documented on SS for the R

Since you all hate the switchblade keys, I can send you the 99-03 key fob..... take your circuit board out of the switchblade key and into the fob and itll work fine. I am doing the switchblade mod next week..... I wouldnt mind having that "R" battery cover
