Boston, MA - Volvo Cars of North America and the New England Volvo Retailers announced today that the Boston Red Sox have selected Volvo cars for their business transportation needs. Vehicles range from Cross Country wagons to C70 convertibles and will be used by Red Sox staff and management. The agreement is for approximately 70 cars over the next three years. Additional sponsorship agreements also name Volvo as the official vehicle of the Boston Red Sox for at least the next three years.

"Volvo and the Boston Red Sox share many of the same values. This became evident during our negotiations," comments Rick Bryant, Volvo's Regional Marketing Manager for Boston "During discussions it became clearer and clearer that family values ranked high on both our agendas. Both of us believe that in addition to the rich Heritage in the New England area, 'family' values are what drive our customers to us."

Volvo's relationship even extends to Left Field where the "Green Monster" wall will be topped with a sign featuring "Volvo For Life". Batters lucky enough to put one into the sign will be supporting Boston's own "Jimmy Fund" with a $500 donation from the local Volvo Retailers.

Sponsors of this agreement include Volvo Cars of North America and Volvo selected retailers in CT, MA, RI, NH, Maine, and VT. Volvo models covered under this agreement are S60 sport sedan, S80 luxury sedan V70 wagon, XC 70 AWD wagon, and C70 convertible.
