Volvo has added pre-painted outside mirror covers, spoilers and trunk lids to the parts offering for many of its models. This action follows the very successful introduction of pre-painted bumpers for a wide range of its automobiles.
"Independent body repair shop operators were initially concerned about color matching, cost and availability of pre-painted bumpers," says Gerry Merritts, Business Development Specialist, Aftersales Business Department, VCNA in Rockleigh, NJ. "When they started installing them, they found that our pre-painted bumper colors matched Volvo's original colors, that they cost about the same as unpainted bumpers that are prepped and painted in a body shop, and that responsive 24- to 48-hour delivery time from local Volvo Retailers was the rule rather than the exception. Independents can expect the same results with our new pre-painted parts."

There are two big additional advantages to ordering and installing Volvo's pre-painted parts. The first is that repair time can be reduced when pre-painted parts are used. The preparation process is eliminated, there is no painting time required and the new parts match Volvo's original factory colors and fade resistant finish. That will surely make the Volvo owner a satisfied customer and make the repair job easier for the shop owner.

The second advantage relates to a reduction in environmental impact because all of the painting and finishing for Volvo's pre-painted parts takes place in Volvo's environmentally conscious manufacturing facilities. This manufacturing approach is consistent with Volvo's environmental care core value.

Genuine Volvo Parts with Volvo's 12-month limited warranty, technical support, and quick delivery are available from local Volvo Retailers. Technical literature can be ordered by calling toll-free 1-800-25VOLVO, or by going online to Volvo Cars of North America Bookstore at www.VolvoTechInfo.com.
