I am looking at a white 1999 S80 with 49K miles for my mother with the Vin number of 26282, the dealer just got it as a off leased vehicle and is inspecting it and if it passes will be a Volvo CPO, should we buy it if the price is right ?? I am thinking of offering about $20,500 but think we should go no higher than $21,500. I know very little about the early S80's with Vin's lower than 42000 which this one is, but if it is a CPO should we be safe even if problems do arise as it will be covered for 6 years or 100K miles whichever comes first from original date of first bought. What do you all think ??? What were the problems ??? Should we buy it ?? Thanks for any info and opinions. God Bless.

Re: VOLVO Certified Pre-Owned >>>>>>> (JDELUNA)

If the necessary recalls have been performed, there is no problem in getting one of the earlier 1999 S80s...
Yannis

Is it a 2.9?
I'd haggle. Why? A couple of reasons, but mainly, it's getting near the end of the year and companies like to thin out their stock. Sorry for the late advice, but if you go in there today (they're probably closed tomorrow), they'll be more likely to haggle even more because it's the last day of the month.
If you end up not buying this one and can wait a couple of weeks, hit them on the last day of December (end of the year) and I'll bet you can play hard ball with them.
As far as reliability, if it's a CPO, then your warranty will cover you ($50 deductible per visit I believe once in the CPO warranty). Theoretically, you should be fine.
DEFINITELY run a CARFAX report on it. That's just good to know info.
As for recalls, your dealer can tell you what is up with that...whether it has any outstanding ones on it or not.
