Hi George, we've met in past Volvo Meets.

I would very much like to help in promoting Volvo meets to get the attendance as high as it was in the past. We have a Facebook page to help networking further.
I'd be happy to make a flyer to help promote this October event, if that is ok with you. Can you provide any details you would like us to share for you?

George,

We have been having good success with our road rallies in the DFW area.
Since we have such good success, I figure I can cut down on the time I
spend publicizing the events. For some reason we have never had a Volvo,
so I am taking Volvo off my active list. If someone asks about rallying,
you are welcome to send them to me.

Good luck with your Volvo enthusiasts. At least Volvo is still around.
I just sold my last SAAB, a sad day.

Yours in the sport,

Sasha

Should be there and thanks! Perhaps Josh too. Will most likely have parts too.

Thanks.

Shockingly...I am going to be in South Texas (San Antonio, Laredo, Pharr, etc.) for work during the week leading up to Oct 4....so it actually might be possible for me to attend...in a rental car!

Hope all is well!

BTW I got the photos I bought from you of the national meet framed...they look amazing. One hangs on the space above the cabinets in my kitchen lol...can you tell I'm single!

Nick.

Nick Tosie took a V70 and made it into an AWD screamer. The national meet photos he mentions are the two panoramic pictures taken during Volvo's 75th Anniversary celebration in Miami Beach...

Greetings George. I haven't made any events since the one at the Volvo Dealership in SA that ended early in Luckenbach. I can't even remember what year that was. I have every intention of making this one. Now to decide which car to drive.

Just got a call from George McDonald in Houston - he and his wife Jackie will make this scene driving their "new" 1990 740 traded for "The Pumpkin" (orange 1800ES).

George has had recent back and knee fixes so prefers the comfort of the 740 seats/roominess over their 544, 122 and V50.

George and Jackie McDonald checked their calendar and discovered that they had committed to the World Champion Chili Cook-off on 10-4. Their classic Volvos (PV and Amazon) won't make the Meet but Mikel and Brenda Wixson will be rolling in from Dallas in their P1800...

Hey George,
We haven't talked/corresponded in a long time. Well actually a very long time.

My wife and I are the couple that bought the p1800 that was restored/rebuilt down in the Houston area quite a while back and then sold to lady here in the Dallas area and who we then acquired the 1800 from 5-6-7..? years ago.

We have had it put away for almost all of that time other then bringing it out for a show that was held at Park Place Volvo. (at which the car would not start, then I broke the ignition key off and as such it was towed back to the shop where it has sat for the last couple of years.)

Anyway the SU's have been repressurized, a new button ignition put in, and a few other items that needed to be taken care of before she was roadworthy have been taken care of also. We took her out on her new "maiden" trip around the block just this last week.

So we had been talking about taking a drive somewhere when imagine to my surprise getting your message about the Volvo get-together next week. Talk about perfect timing...

So the AAA has been renewed and we're going to hit the road your way and see if we can make it for a nice mid-morning breakfast, usually our favorite meal, at Megs. Hopefully there will be no problems and breakfast doesn't turn into lunch..! It's supposed to be in the low 70's that day and we will take it easy so heat shouldn't be a problem.

Had hoped we might have met you at the Park Place get together so will look forward to finally meeting you, and other Volvo crazed drivers, and maybe learning some more about our car...

Regards,

Mikel & Brenda Wixson

Hi George,

I was hoping to attend the meet Sat. and bring some of my air-filter conversion kits which I make & sell on Ebay. Unfortunately something has come up so I can't make it. By the way, I'll probably be sellingmy '66 544 project soon. It needs new floor pans, a windshield, & who knows what else, it has a B20 & will run, (with gas & a batt.). If you know anyone interested they can call me 210-five 3 five-5 two 8 nine. Thanks, & take care, Bill Langdon, Spring Branch, Tx. blangdon at gvtc dot com
