You can put it wherever you want, try doing a search for the Volvo bluetooth. You can find many different mounting options on different Volvo vehicles. Give you a broadened choice for locations.

Something to think about. At my dealership, we always advise mounting the Bluetooth module on center console. The main reason is that the dash on all Volvos is semi-porous and over time air gets underneath the adhesive, drying it out, and then it falls off eventually. If you mount it on the aluminum console, this problem tends to be a non-issue.
-Stephen
Can the wire be routed through a hole so it is not visible when mounted? 2 things I would have to know, can the wire go down through a hole when mounted and how big a hole would have to be drilled to allow the wire end to be pushed through? Has anyone mounted this in the overhead console, that could look good...
Not that I have seen. Granted, this is only from one dealership's perspective. I don't think any Volvo shop would drill the hole, because that could open up problems everywhere. I have yet to see it on the overhead console either.... Basically I have seen it on the dash, in one or two different places, and also on the center console. Like I said though, when mounted on the dash, they sometimes can fall off. My boss' bluetooth on his demo fell off after 3.5-4 months when it was dash mounted. Whatever you do, make sure it is on a smooth surface, and all of the adhesive has something to stick to.
-Stephen
