I used to work in Herndon, Virginia, about a mile from Dulles. I would often see various taxicabs serving the airport, and after seeing one this morning on the way to work, I was reminded that a great number of these drivers used the 740 (and perhaps 760 as well) sedan as a taxicab. It was quite surprising, as you really don't see a whole lot of these on the road as it is, and the car of choice for a taxi is typically a Crown Vic or Caprice, usually retired from police duty. Do the rest of you ever see these cars being used as taxis?

Tons of them. I think that their solid RWD platforms are better suited to haul people with and of course there is the whole durability factor to consider as well. Also, look at the design of the entrance points of the seating postions and how easily you swing in and out of the car; notice how short of a step it is to get your feet in the footwells? That IMHO is so much more comfortable than any American car (sorry Dad! ) that I have ever been in.
-my two cents,
[email protected]
