For the last month or so my Volvo has been almost stalling after i let go of the gas or stopped at a stop light.
It only seems to happen in the morning when driving to school. When i say almost stalling i mean that it starts to shake and will not accel for 2 or 3 seconds. Just wondering if anyone new what the problem may be.

Thanks

Re: Volvo 240 almost stalling (gdill2)

Well I took the car to a shop about a half year ago, The car wouldn't start and could not shift from park to anything else. Also at that time I got general maintance which included to engine mounting brackets. Um besides that just changing my own oil filter and oil.

Re: Volvo 240 almost stalling (doug.hessler)

Time for a good going-over...

Clean the flame trap and throttle body.
Service the fresh air box and hot air thermo/flap.
Adjust the idle.
Clean the fuel injectors.
Replace fuel filters.
Install new spark plugs.
Adjust the valves.
Inspect/replace all coolant hoses including heater control valve.
Check all vacuum hoses, connections and vacuum valves including under the dash.
Check/clean all electrical connections, junctions and grounds.
With the car idling press sideways on each fuel injector. If a change in idle suspect a faulty electrical connection.
With the car idling unplug the mass air meter. If little or no change in idle suspect a faulty mass air meter.
