I know this topic is already being discussed here
http://forums.swedespeed.com/z...90108
I was just wondering if any R owners are getting screwed into paying for removal of your $825 in-dash phone and installation of a storage bin for $90. Totaling a $915 storage bin...compliments of Volvo.

Volvo has alerted it's VOCP customer base of its policy for FREE removal of the VOCP hardware and installion of the storage bin come cubby hole. I received my letter about this from "One Cabot Road, Medford, Massachusetts 02155" about one week ago. It states
"In the interest of customer satisfaction, Volvo Cars of North America, LLC is providing you the option to remove your On Call Plus system from your vehical. The phone/unit key pad will be replaced with a dashboard storage recetacle. Please contact your local Volvo retailer to arrange an appointment to have your On Call Plus unit removed."
It continues on by saying if you have question to call the Volvo Customer Care Center at 1-800-458-1552. You would be advised to call this number if your Volvo retailer is wanting to charge you $90 etc.
For me, as I have VOCP SOS system also, I've lucked out as my local Volvo retailer has somehow arranged for me to be also compenstated with a free installation of the Volvo Bluetooth kit for hands-free Cell phone operation as part of the VOCP system removal.

In addition - the letter I received was accompanied by a Q & A and in this it says in response to "is this a warranty item"
"no, Volvo's retailer network would be advised how to handle this matter at no cost to you.".
I am just going to call customer care and have them resolve it. I hate when the service guys have the upper hand. I'd rather walk in and say "higher up says you fix for free!!!"
