Re: VMS - turbo kits - good, bad, anyone ever buy these???? (23109VC)

Most parts are ATP. The manifold is of terrible design and extremely overpriced, the welding appears to be OK though.
Easier would be to machine the stock R manifold and mount a GT3071-T3 or a GT2871-T3 with the ATP ultimate internal wastegate.
Manifold would look like this,

Mated with a GT2871-T3, teh ATP wastegate and a downpipe it would look something like this,

I was looking at the GT30R on their site, and realized that you could do it for _a lot_ less.
that's the route im going, since iPD has a GT30R tune already, according to R_Rated, since that's what he's running.

It may be a bit pricey but IPD can get an exhaust manifold that will have the correct flange. IPD can get the whole kit but most are not willing to pay for the quality....

what would it cost to get a new turbo setup like this - since it's possible to do it cheaper than VMS?

Re: (23109VC)

If you sacrifice your downpipe..
Turbo~ 1500
Plumbing depends on labour/availability
CBV is needed (preferable else recirc BOV) ~2-300
Tuning ~???
Some hose stuff.
Using stock IC in your hot weather I think you could make ~380 stable crank HP, roughly 40 over what you have now. With a larger IC you can go 20-30 higher and call it a day.

You have to cut the flange of and about 6 inches and weld a bend like the one in the pick just with either a reducer or you can slit the pipe in a few spots and "scrunch" it up and re weld the slits.
