From my C70 (and mirrored in that thread), but some may find this interesting:
I've never liked a-pillar mount for some reason, just looks too JDM to me. I decided to relocate the fog light switches and use the 2 dummie plug spots for a gauge. Now the great thing is that the gauge physically wedges itself in the spot, you only need to cut the plastic divider piece between the 2 switches.
After I got it mounted and working, I changed illumination to match, found a piece of 1.75 PVC pipe to mount between gauge face and the new plexiglass facia piece, masked the circle to paint and tinted the back purple to match the tone of the R cluster.
Here is the final product:
Close up

Basically the view from driver's seat. Yes the 15-20 is a little tough to see accurate readings.

Night illumination

Last three questions.
How many are needed for the insturment cluster? 6 or 4?
You got the 4th one down on that page right, "Inverted Lenses" $2.49 ea. Where the top ones not available? The "The Widest, Brightest and Best 194 Leds Ever Made!" $8.99 ea.? It looks like those would work well.
Are these a direct replacement or do you need to do something to make them fit?
Thanks
It looks great!

I also have another question: isn't one of the caracteristics of LEDs that they are either on or off and cannot be dimmed? If that is indeed so, is it no longer possible to ajust the brightness of the display?
