I've just read a revoew in Autocar whihc was pretty good, better than an Audi A4, miles better than a Saab 9-3 Conv but not quite as sharp as the BM 3 series. They liked it, seats and ergonomics got a very big thumbs up, steering a bit lifeless, engine good, handling grippy but slightly soft....

Funny I ready a review and it was behind the 93 Aero Conv but ahead of the Audi A4 Convt. 1.8T. However Saab will be offering for MY2008 a AWD version while Audi for MY2008 maybe 09 A4's Convt. will now be a folding hard-top as well. A lot people think right now the C70 doesn't have enough power for the weight of the car.

When my measuring stick says I only got 218 hp for $45K.....I'm pretty disappointed.
Hell, just about every car on the road over $20K has more than 218 hp nowadays.

Do the Big Boys sell anything in the $40K price range as low as this in horsepower? What a disappointment. All appearance.........

although I certainly dont suuport volvo's decision to offer just 220 hp for such a heavy and sporty car, I think the review of 4car is totally BS. The car is just as good as an A4, and I know many people who think its more beautiful than the audi and the other competitors;also the interior is very nice and swedish!
The reviewer gave no tangible reasons to prove that its an inferior car to the Germans.What an infuriating remark to say that volvo CANNOT compete with the Germans, and that volvo is not a prestige car brand.
Awful review in my opinion and totally unprofessional, not to mention B-I-A-S-E-D!

Well I have to say here in LA, as many Volvo's as there are, many people really do not look at them as being as good as German cars. Also very few (if any) are impressed by them. I think the interior is ok... but I have more of a problem with a 218 hp engine.

Yes, without a doubt...Volvo does not have the prestigious name of say BMW, Audi, Jaguar, Mercedes, Lexus...even Infiniti, Lincoln, Cadillac.
The first thing most people said when I mentioned that I was getting a Volvo was, "Oh, that ought to be a safe car." Just yesterday I was talking about my car and a guy overheard me and asked what car I have. I told him it was a Volvo S60R. He asked why I would buy a Volvo with a turbo. Granted this guy is older and does not know much about Volvo's. But, nor do a lot of people.
