I had my EST cat-back and 3" Ferrita DP installation completed Friday so I took a quick video today so you can hear what it sounds like: (click on the pic)

It sounds a bit louder inside the car than I thought it would and there is just bit of a drone around 3500 RPM on the way down (decelerating in gear, that is). With easy driving I don't think most people would notice the difference but once you open it up you can really hear the meatier sound.

I made a before and after video from inside the car but the video's don't do the difference much justice (you can't hear much difference in the video but when I'm in the car I CAN certainly hear a deeper growl).

Nice.. It sounds nicer than mine..lol
What are u taping it with? It sounds deeper. On my video I hear more of the whine sound than the exhaust really. Do a drive by video to.

I'm using a cheap little Kodak CX7330 http://wwwcaen.kodak.com/globa...308I It's not too shabby for a little P&S digi-cam, it shoots low-res video but it's nice because you can shoot until you fill your card.

I don't have a drive-by video yet but see what you think about this one from inside the car with the window down. I was in frist gear and brougt it up to ~5000RPM easily and slowly and then let it run back down still in first gear:

Now listen to this one with STOCK DP and STOCK cat-back in first gear, window down, slow run from 1K to 5K RPM and back to 1K RPM:

In the above in-car videos you'll have to listen carefully to hear the difference and if you don't have a subwoofer don't bother since they'll sound almost identical. There IS a difference that you easily notice in real life and somewhat in these videos with good speakers and a subwoofer is a must.

ps. I was on a residential street but never got above 50Km/h and took ~10 seconds to get there

Re: (LTA)

Regarding my early thoughts on performance:
- so far I have not been able to do any useful tests runs with my G-meter
- based on the butt-dyno there seems to be a surge around 4000RPM, feels like the power band gets steep at that point and up to around 5000RPM (feels more like a typical turbo now)
- I can hear the turbo much more now but I can't easily describe the sound and I don't think I can capture it with my video camera
- it's noticeably louder at start up when he RPM are up but once it settles down to under 1000RPM is very quiet
- there is a bit more smell in the exhaust as well but not enough to make my close smell and seems to go away once it has warmed up.
