Gents,
Having zero success with Vida 2014D install.
Have searched the interwebs & applied everything I found, still no love...
My laptop was incompatible (Win7Home), so grabbed a designated Dell with Win7Pro64 installed. This had IE11 on in, but tried install...no luck
Uninstalled IE11, and downloaded IE9, per eGay instruction. No luck...

Was able to extract patch using 7Zip, but software itself gets to "Vida install in progress", then hangs it up?
Had waited as much as three hours, and still nothing.

Have uninstalled everything Vida related between attempts.

No antivirus or anti malware running.

What am I missing?
Figured I'd ask for help before throwing this laptop against the wall...

Please and thank you!

Use a virtual machine and be done. Theres a great thread in the canbus forum. No computer prerequisites needed. Will even work on a win xp with 1g ram, though it's very slow.

Yep there are virtual machines that you just need to open and they have windows 7 preinstalled with VIDA installed and everythings set up and ready to go. You can use whatever modern win10 laptop you want then.

Definitely VM is the way to go. I currently run a VM on a Microsoft surface pro 2 running windows 10.

Ok.
I have zero knowledge of a virtual machine, but quick study and will get it done.
Can you provide a link to that canbus thread?
Thank you!

well, that VM deal worked....THANK YOU so much!!!
It is a little quirky but it eventually does work. I've been using VIDA on a VM for a few years now - invaluable tool.
