A question for all as I have no answer for the following. I am starting to get a deep throaty sound and vibration from the engine under full acceleration at speeds above 82mph going up hill (i.e.: Under Load), it is definitely not the tires. The vibration is noticeable while white knuckling the steering wheel but is not severe enough as to shake the entire car. Any thoughts on this? Help.

My guess would be the transmission. If you say it only happens under load, than it can't be the CV joints, or half-shafts, or whatever they call the axle assemblies on the awd's. This is just from my past experience with all manner of cars, not just volvo. I understand the AWD R's had some issues with the trannies but i'm not sure of the specifics.

Good luck.
