Greetings, Comrades!

Today after work I got into my car (S40 2005 2.0D SUMMUM) and after some while noticed that it became too hot inside the car. Car ventilation blows only hot air (really hot). Outside temperature in my town today was 1 degree by celcius. Nothing changes when switching from auto to manual (LOW or 14 degree) temperature setting. If I turn off car ignition, it starts blowing air in outside temperature (as it should be). As soon as I start the engine again, hot air comes up.

Could you please give me some advice? Taking the car to dealer at this point is not an option (at least at beggining) due to the financial status.

Thank you in advance.!!!!

Unfortunately, it might require a dealer trip. Many of the HVAC problems on these cars are software related and require a recalibration.

I'll let others chime in though!

Maybe it needs a recharge of refrigerant?

That's only if the AC isn't blowing cold. If it's not even changing temp, likely software related.
