I bought VADIS from a top secret, underground volvo society, and I'm having trouble accessing the info. I know that there should be TONS of stuff in that software, but when I select my car, it doesn't come up with anything useful, maybe 8-10 categories. It also fails to recognize my VIN when I input it. What am I doing wrong? It installed just fine off of the 2 DVD set that I got and it seems to run fine, aside from the fact that all of the info seems to be missing. Thanks,
Evo

I guess they presume that you already have the basic skills down pat.
As for not finding your VIN, you need to be connected to the Ford servers for that info. I'm not sure if that is permitted for a non-dealership employee.
John
Re: VADIS not working properly? (Parts @ Boston Volvo)

Thanks. That makes sense about the VIN, but honestly there is next to nothing in the system it seems. What do they define as basic skills? I want to do things like...oh, change brakes, change fluid in angle gear and rear diff, take apart interior pieces...etc. But none of these seem to be available.

Thats strange, when I plug in my VIN it brings up my car. I've not tried to look up instructions on things like breaks or the likes of that. But I would love to be able to do a SUM calabration from my own computer and save the $45 dollars to do it a the dealer.

Or maybe you could come across and old VCT-2000 box with a OBDII cable that still works for a little bit less.

See, that's my issue. Why can't it just be as easy as plugging my car into my computer and clicking the calibrate button? Oh well.
