Is that an official release from VCC? It sounds really early for Volvo to be coming out with this car, wow!

-Drew

I thought Ford nixed the Volvo 8 cylinder? Hope not. Looking forward to a 8 cylinder swap in the 850!

I hear its the engine from the Jag... you know they have to start doing this sooner or later. Ford is gonna be swapping engines in cars at a flash. No need to have 20 engines when they can get by with about less than half that.

Northstar engine...
Yes, the picture you posted definitely lloks like a Huyndai Nowif you are insinuating that the front of that V90 sketch looks like a Huyndai, then IMO you are wrong, not even close. But do not fret; the V90's front will not look like that, anyway.

Yannis

Plus, I don't think any current Ford V motor would fit longitudinally in the Volvo platform, so for now, it'd have to be a new motor unless they use the DEW platform (T-bird, S-Type, LS).

It seems to be pretty much well know that this new V8 engine has been designed by Yamaha. Whether or not it is a pure Yamaha design remains to be seen.
The first V6 Taurus SHO engine used a Yamaha head, but the block was still Ford IIRC. The V8 SHO engine had more Ford DNA than the V6 version, which remains to this day an awesome powerplant (V6 Version).
-Drew
