I am starting to get addicted to the idea of putting a V8 into a 240 or 740/60 series. That would be a cool car and stealth as hell except for the eventual and addictive burnouts. Man if Volvo still made RWD today, they could make a S240R with a 260hp 4.6 Ford V8!! I would buy that car.

The new DOHC V8 could be a bit hard to find as many (extreme)aftermarket parts as the OHV V8. Since I dunno much about the newer engine..I'm not too sure if they will fit without much problem with the V8 conversion kit. I don't even know if the new engine is as strong as the old ones...I heard the old Ford V8 could withstand much more stress before you need to looking to rods and other internal parts.
You could easily (with some $hit load of green) tune it to be a monstrous NA V8 or drop in a supercharger...or twin turbo kit if you want to get creative, or maybe just a NOS kit if you are not that creative.
I've been dreaming about my 284tt for some time now, but I still want to get the interior carpet changed out first. Then there's the paint job and some customization to do with the body......this is just a never ending process. Not even sure if I should even try to do half of what I plan.
Not sure the cost, time, and effort can be justified..
Okay...obviously if I am online tonite posting msg like this, you all know that I still haven't got the C70 back yet.
I didn't know it was that hard to put an engine back together...last time I check, 80% of the stuff is back in the car. Thought one more week was reasonable for them to have the car ready.
Oh wellz....I'm just gonna sit here and wait hopelessly for the summer to pass away.....
