I've got a 2000 V70XC and would like to upsize tires on my stock Terra rims.
I drive often on gravel/dirt/rock/light snow and want the best durability and bite.
I'm hoping to increase ground clearance slightly and maybe increase load index.

Stock Terra wheels are 6.5" wide with 205/65-15 tires.
My current *guesses* as to alternate tire sizes that would fit the bill are:
225/70-15
225/75-15
215/75-15
215-70-15

Would appreciate input or user experience.

You’re tightest spot is between tire and the rear suspension stay arm. Measure there and then decide

WOW. That is badass. But maybe more than I'm willing to bite off. (Hell, apparently, I'm not even willing to change wheels).

My math says 215/75 is 161.25mm tall, and 225/70 is 157.5mm tall. So maybe the latter could be a 'compromise' route...

In the 225/70 size, there's this Crugen tire that has an improved 100 load index and seems like maybe a nice aggressive tread.
If the 225/75's could fit, there are more options with load index up to 102-105.
If the 215/75's, maybe the Firestone Destination LE3 or Michelin Defender LTX M/S, both of which have load index 100.

All I think significant improvements over the 133mm high, load index 92's that are on there now.
Would be awesome if Adam.Nonis the lifter :bow: sees this and chimes in
