I have an 01 V70XC with the 2.4T and the car has 293000kms. I want tot sell the car and I know it will be easier with
a new timing belt and it's not that difficult to do, but I am having trouble finding a timing belt.

I called a couple of parts stores and they said the engine code they are looking for for that year is 1266127 or 1266128,
but mine is 2143617. It says this on the block and the sticker on the timing cover. How can I find what year the engine
is from as I am thinking it might have been changed at one time or an other.

Thanks,
Ian

You just go by the VIN, buy from a Volvo dealer as you really should use the Volvo kit anyway

I would highly advise NOT buying the parts from the stealership if you can avoid it.

You can get the timing belt, tensioner and idler from Rock Auto for around $100 USD shipped. Which is by far the cheapest I've found them. These aren't no name parts, these are the same manufacturer as Volvo uses.
