I test drove a V70T with manual transmission and found it to be a little more difficult to shift smoothly compared to other stick shifts. Has anybody else experience this too? Do I just need to practice to get the timing down? My wife loves stick shifts but I'm inclined to go with the automatic based on my experience.
all the best,
Gary

I have yet to drive a 60 or 70 series Volvo with a manual, but I can imagine that just like most manual transmissions, it takes time to get adjusted.
I drove a manual transmission Subaru Impreza WRX a week ago, and first gear was not very easy to engage for some reason. It took a little while for me to get it right. IMHO, as a generaly rule, I think that all cars are different in personality in cases like the clutch release, shift action, and shift throw.
If you get a chance, try out another V70 with a manual tranmission if they have one or take one for an extended test drive. Of course if you still don't like it, you can always get Geartronic.
-Drew
