Anybody know why Volvo, in their infinite wisdom, moved the wheels 10mm inboard on the Rs - with attendant wheel rubbing and huge turning radius? Was it for outside fender clearance with the lower suspension?

Given that, what is the R-forum's collective wisdom on using 10 mm spacers or ET36 wheels?

Using a 5mm or 10mm wheel spacer with a 17" or 18" Pegasus wheel (18x8", +46mm offset) is a common practice on the front axle of the R's to eliminate wheel rubbing.

5mm, 10mm or 15mm wheel spacers can all be used on the rear axle. 15mm spacers may cause rubbing on the outer wheel arch depending on size/brand/model of tire and whether the car is lowered on the rear axle.
