The 2.4 T5 has the same bore as the 2.3, only the stroke is longer.

Swedish do high performance 'Frankenstein' builds ;

2.3 engine
Crank of the 2.5R
Original 2.4 pistons
Head of the 2.5R with VVT

Even the 2.3 pistons have proven to withstand +400hp, there is no absolute need for forged pistons, stories that you need Wiseco pistons are hear-say-nonsense

So if you are in a hurry, get a 2.3, use the crank of your 2.5R and build the engine as desired.
if not, have patience and wait/look for a 2.4T5 and dont open it
This is how I've configured my build for my 850, 2.4 LPT engine which has a higher not lower CR, longer rod and shorter piston to pin height and a lighter crank to boot. 2.4 LPT engines should be abundant and with a proper tune, you'll be much happier than any other option with the lowest cost.
