Those are definitely some dope wheels. My family car is a 2000 V70R i love it, everything about it is elite, special wheels, more power than every other car from volvo (except T6), Twin tip exhaust and the only model with a blue "R" engine cover.
The wheels are definitely rare and look cool, but you'll be yurning for 17's especially the titans, they simply are the most amazing wheel volvo has come out with. They're simple yet very aesthetically pleasing and almost threatening looking at a standstill.
Your call, but to put them on any other car would be a bit of a poser move in my mind, go with 17's!!!

I think, but am not sure, that Volvo made two sizes for three style of rims.

17 x ?" The 17-inch Comet wheels came with the 98' FWD S70R/V70R, where-as the 16-inch Meteor wheels only came on the 98' AWD S70R/V70R.
Since the US never got a FWD version of the 98' V70R, the AWD version we got came here with 16-inch Meteor wheels.
This same thing didn't apply to the 99'/00' V70R versions. These cars either came with 17-inch Satellite or 16-inch Solar wheels depending on the options.
I hope this clears up some confusion.
Another interesting thing is that the Comet and Meteor wheels both came in two different sizes. The 94'- 00' Comet came in 17x7 and the 01' Comet comes in 17x7.5, which is called version 'C'. There are two different part numbers for these wheels. There are also two different part numbers for the Meteor wheels depending on what the rim width is. The Comet is my favorite Volvo wheel, second would be the Titans.

The new Sentinal 17x7.5 wheels look really great as well.

-Drew
[This message has been edited by InDy (edited 11-13-2001).]

Arhhh...okay that did clear things up. Hmm..I think the 240 will look sweet with the Satellite. Anyone got the part number for that? But $40 Solar is just unbeatable.

That is cheaper than a set of funny looking hubcaps for steel wheels. I would recomend getting them and then if you want to go up to a 17" later you could sell the wheels for the same price or even more.
If they were in good condition I would be interested in buying them just to resell them.

I was thinking of making my car as close to an "R" as possible. Should i get the "R" wheels ? I don't like the S70 "R" wheels that much. I was thinking some gun metal 850 "R" wheels the 17's of course. what you guys think ?

It's like all these Integras out there with Type-R stickers. Looks kinda silly when others know you are just a poser.
By all means....it's cool if you just want to get bumpers & wheels to make it look nice, but intentionally getting little things like emblem to pretend to be an R just kinda r1ce.

I think they look pretty cool, too~! Titan's got this more muscular look to it, but Volan's got this sleek image that Titan can't touch. Or maybe because we repainted the Volans to silver to go with a white car....so they look better together.
Kai, again your insight is correct.
The Volans do look great, i must admit, if there were any other rim out there that i would want for my car other than the stock Titans.
The silver looks great on the volans, but i must say that i like the dark look to the titans.
David~

And the Volan just look kinda mean and evil. I guess these wheels seriously reflect some personalities.

I wonder if we can formulate some way to match the OEM Volvo wheels to peoples personalities.
I like the look of silver finished Volans actually, they look damn good! I think that silver Volans would look great on a black 'R'.
-Drew
