Can anyone help?<BR>I would like to add an aftermarket CD changer (Alpine) to out V70. Purchased the cable from Volvo as the car was not pre-wired. I know that computer has to be programmed for the changer. Which off the shelf Alpine units work witht he Volvo cable. We have the standard Volvo head unit in the V70 2.4 - HU613.<BR>All help gratefully received.<BR>Thanks<BR>Robin Smith

Unless they have made a change to the Volvo head unit...you just plug the alpine in (Alpine 620 six disc changer) It worked fine in my 850 and now in my S70. Good luck!

Robin,<BR> Your HU-613 is manufactured by Mitsubishi (MELCO) and will not work with Alpine CD changers. Period. Their reply was that they may have a unit to market sometime this year. I keep checking their website but no new announcements so far. <BR> The only other alternative would be to purchase a Mitsubishi CD Changer but it is my understanding MELCO does not import mobile audio products to North America. If you had the resources, you could import a CD-5852C (http://www.carnavi.melco.co.jp/audio/products/changer/cd5852c.html) from Japan. Still, there are no guarantees that it will work with a Volvo head unit. And you will still need a software download to your car in order to recognize the changer.<BR>
