Just found out that my 2.0d puts some pressure trough air filter. The timing belt has been changed recently and my first guess is that the timing is not correct. Next monday local Volvo dealer will verify the timing (belt change is done elsewhere). Can it be verified with Vida/dice or does it always need mechanical verification?

What else would cause this pressure to the intake side? Has there been some problems with the cylinder head (broken lifters, valves etc.) that could cause this?

If that's a timing issue it would have to be off by quite a bit, enough to notice anyway. Are you experiencing power loss?

The timing was ok and actually after some own inspection (listening the engine) i noticed that its "kicking back" just with one stroke. So my next quess is that some intake valve is not closing fully. The compression test will be next. Hopefully it would be just bad rocker arm / tappet which could be fixed without taking the head off.
