Coming Wednesday a new batch of crashtest results will be communicated by EuroNCAP. On Saturday one of its directors participated in a radio auto show in the Netherlands. He mentioned that the Volvo V40 scored 98 points out of a 100. That is the highest score ever achieved with their tests. But we will have to wait until Wednesday to get the full results.

Since pedestrian safety is highly valued in Europe, the new pedestrian airbag in the V40 has significantly helped to raise the score. The IIHS test would probably show a somewhat different result since they have different criteria. They will most likely never test this vehicle since it's not sold in the US anyway. But maybe the XC40 :)
