Hi All,

I need change the region from USA to EU, and I know I have two options:
1. Volvo DiCE based on J2534 chip + VDASH - cost ~ 300 EUR (vdash)
2. VOE OBD2 Ethernet Adapter + access to Vida on-line. Does anyone have any idea how much this would cost by Vida on-line ?

Maybe there are other options ?

Thank you in advance for your help. :)

Why you want to change the region?! No benefit added.

For navigation maps, just let the dealer do it for you because they have a master key maps. If you download the maps online, you might not be able to change the maps.

For units/measurements, change them from the settings.

1. I know this is possible with VDASH, but why not look for someone near you who already has hardware (you don't need to buy a Volvo Dice) , you have on the website to search for anyone near you. I know that VXDIAG VCX Nano works with VDASH
https://d5t5.com/dealers/

2. I'm not sure that Vida online allows that, a change of region

I don't think there are other options for Volvo, simply because third-party software and hardware manufacturers aren't interested because of the relatively small number of interested owners

Probably because the car was imported to Europe

Volvo dealers are not doing a region change, they used to do it, but they don't do it anymore

Yeah maybe but still changing the region will not add/change anything in the car. This what I tried to clarified to OP...

Why would someone in the US change the region to the EU model and lose navigation ????
If the car is imported into the EU it is normal that you do not benefit from US maps
Also Volvo On Call does not work on the US model in EU

I know a lot of cases of people who imported Audi and BMW models and had to do a system conversion, but you can do it with independent repairers, and you can do it yourself if you know and have the appropriate software.

I'm in the same situation...relocating back to the EU and wanna keep my XC60 T8 R-Design; only have about 13K miles on it.

I just picked up my new tail lights with yellow turn signals which are mandatory here (paid $785 for both). Part numbers VOL-32228914 & VOL-32228915 Variant JA03 (LHD).

That's what I though, that I should be able to change the dash from Miles to KM/H in the settings and also download EU maps.

However, it's a bummer if I need a region change and if Volvo On-call wont work without the dealer making changes.

Also for the T8...the charging cable won't work with EU power outlets without an adapter and using public charging stations requires a Type 1 to Type 2 cable adapter - both NOT recommended by Volvo.

@Nerd23
This car is imported into the EU.

@BigBang
Thx for answer and very useful link.
Specialists in Poland expect a lot of money for this service. This is about 500 EUR / ~600 USD.
These are "sick" prices.

Can anyone else confirm that VXDIAG VCX Nano works with VDASH and Volvo on SPA platform ? (maybe someone can provide a specific set that I need to purchase ?)
