Car wife drives...'04 V70 is right over 40K miles, but still under warranty....and we got the extended one to 100K miles. I'm leaving Sunday for Japan so I can't do anything about it right now...but she's going on a 500 mile trip during my absence, so she asked me to check her car over this morning. Low and behold I find the upper motor mount (round one) broken. It's no big deal I know for awhile, but not sure about mountainous trip of 500 miles, so I called the dealer. Their service dept. is closed (it's the weekend) so I talked to a sales rep and his manager. They couldn't tell me if it's under warranty or not...thought was that it's "like a brake pad and wears out, so probably not under warranty." Hmmmm, if that's the case, I'll go ahead and order a poly bushing for it and do it myself when I get back. Maybe she should drive my car for the 500 miles and not hers... Won't know about her car being under warranty or not until after I leave for Japan (wife calling the service dept. on Monday). Either way, still don't know if they'll have an opening to go ahead and fix it before she leave on her trip. So, what should one do? Any related advise would be appreciated.
Can anyone tell me if this part is covered under the warranty?
Also, where is the best place to get a poly bushing for a P2 car?

It's under warranty...defective design if you ask me. Just get the Evolve black bushing and be done with it (have one on both of our cars).
Your salesperson is rather stupid and uninformed
As you know, you have a bumper to bumper warranty
They just replace the entire bracket with the new design, about 20 minutes.
and a motor mount (let's call it for what it really is ) is naturally under warranty
You really don't want a poly bushing for an XC, (or any other automatic Volvo).
More vibraton at idle and would be out of place in a stock XC
I put one in my 850R and took it out in a week, too much vibration

Thank you....I'll have my wife make an appointment. Hopefully she can get it done while I'm in Japan this next week.
While I'm at it, wasn't there a tranny software upgrade for the '04 V70? If so, I'll get her to check into that and have it done at the same time. When I drive it I feel a clunk at full stop from a sprited run...she says she's never heard it, but I have. It's at 42K miles...maybe we can get them to change the tranny fluid under warranty too?? (yeah, good luck on that one right?).

Yeah, good luck but a good thing to do even if you pay for it. Replace with 3309.
Tell them it clunks and you should get (for free) any software upgrades available
and there are ALWAYS upgrades for every year

And again. And again.
I gave up after two replacements on my (previous) T5 and with the '04s we now have, went with the Evolve black immediately. My wife can feel mouse footsteps at 50 feet in her sleep and has not once said anything about vibration.
I believe that JRL is correct, they will replace it with a new design like the one I have on my '05. No cost, no vibrations, and the problem is _supposed_ to be fixed.

Instead of breaking every 30K miles, now they will probably break at 50K
