Huge Success... HUGE.

If today's get-together is any indication of what Volvo-related events in 2005 are going to be like in the Pacific Northwest, then I have one word... WOO-HOO!
The intitial feedback (through an informal exit-poll) was that our Portland Pre-Superbowl Volvo Event was a smashing success. Way bigger turnout than expected.
Here it is by the numbers:
- Approximately 60 people cycled through the event throughout the day.
- About 40 Volvos of all vintages, years and models were counted.
- We raffled off 18 items.
- We raised $105 in the raffle.
A special thank you to Eric Mollerstuen of IPD for donating IPD t-shirts, stickers/decals, the R-Sport ball-caps, and the V/S70 poly engine mount.
A very special thank you to Lee Fish of Herzog-Meier Volvo for donating the travel mugs, key chains, road-side emergency kits, Volvo ball-caps, and 240 floor mats, not to mention bringing with him the HM Motorsports S40, the S60R, and the '81 262C Bertone Convertible that were on display. (Tonya, remember to take lots of pictures when you go to Sweden to pick up your S60R).
And last but not least, thank you to Peter Linssen for hosting the event at The V-Shop, and allowing folks to use his VADIS, snoop around his T6-powered 960, and helping out with technical questions.
Finally, thank you to everyone who attended the event. The true success of these get-togethers are due in large part to your participation. My apologies if I didn't make it around and greet all of you and thank you for coming.
In the next several days, pictures from the event will be posted on the OVT Galleries under "Events". We will also get a final tally on who ruled GT-3. Stay tuned for more info.

Just a reminder: Our upcoming events are...
- March 5: Track Day at PIR with the Alfa Romeo Club
- End of March sometime: Possible workday at Eric Mollerstuen's house (stay tuned for actual dates and time)
- May: IPD Garage Sale (Eric... when is it?)
- June 5/6: Davis Show and Thunderhill Track Day in Davis/Willows CA.
- Summer '05: "Volvos on the Green" at Marc Williams' house. Dates TBA.
- Summer '05: Herzog-Meier sponsored event. Dates TBA.
Stay tuned to OVT and TurboBricks for more information. OVT members, keep an eye on my regular e-newsletters.
