Our caRs are so ****ing worthless in resale value now. Hell ive put over 7k into it just this year! And my is a 2004 with 140k miles. Glad its paid off and I am smart enough to keep with considering resale value...

Amen to that! Worth way more to me in utility alone than any resale would give.

You're all missing the point.
This R needs at least 2K worth of work and parts to make it decent AND emissions ready and that's only what we know so far!!!

With 88K miles, so except for the hail damage it doesn't sound like that bad of a deal.
Do you understand this was a DEALER auction? This means add his profit to whatever the final sale will be.
A dealer cannot (legally ) sell a car with modified emission parts. Then he needs to try to get most, if not all of the hail damage fixed, repair the seat and do whatever else is necessary.

This could be a 2004 S60R (not even a V) with an asking price of over 10K.
If it had been a wagon I would have been right there in the bidding but not a sedan.

Like your other post above, this one too makes no real sense, what was the point?
You're comparing a 2007 V70R with no apparent damage to a 2004 S60R WITH damage

Not really that great of a deal imo compared to the SR I just bought from a old lady with 26k miles flawless

I may have the lowest mileage s60r in the country who knows ;)

Bruce has 2 of them :)
I've heard about this dealer before. Is he not willing to negotiate on price? I would imagine belts, fluid, tires and other parts are pretty worn from sitting stagnant for so long.
